Transition Houston meets in several venues for our monthly meetings. This month we will be meeting in the fellowship hall at Christ the King Lutheran Church, near Rice Village.

We will have a smorgasbord of topics and speakers at the August meeting.  Our lead speaker is Kathryn Van der Pol, who will speak about her new project, the Texas General Store, which is a directory she's creating of items that are actually manufactured in Texas.  She also will do an activity demonstrating the importance of buying locally.

Mark Juedeman will share his experience in Chicago, where he attended Train the Trainer and Transition Thrive trainings.

Joyce Almaguer-Reisdorf will talk about the upcoming Bike Rodeo (September 15), presented by the Transportation Action Group.

We will also have updates on what is going on in our Action Groups and Neighborhood Initiatives.

As is our tradition, the business program will end at 8:30 and the time for refreshments, conversation, and community will begin. We need to be out of the space at 9:00pm, in consideration of the facility staff.

Parking: If the Church lot is full, parking is available in the parking lot of the Rice Village Animal Hospital just across Rice Blvd. on the northwest corner of Rice and Greenbriar. Another option is the Rice University parking lot across Greenbriar from the Church ($1). Bicycle parking is in the greenspace within the church parking lot. The Metro 26 and 27 have stops close by.
